Introduction to Phase Change-Evaporation
192255255
Evaporation is happening everywhere around us. Wet towels dry by evaporation. After rain, the ground dries out in sunlight through evaporation.
Evaporation involves a change or state, or phase, usually from liquid to gas, but sometimes from solid to gas.
This is why this activity begins with a look at the phases of matter.
Then we will examine the forces and energy changes needed to change from one state to another.
This will provide an atomic-scale explanation for evaporation and cooling.
