UTF-8Interaction Between a Charged Balloon and a Wall2552550絕緣體的靜電感應
By Dr. Ji Shen, University of California Berkeley
The computer simulation below demonstrates the electrostatic interaction between a charged balloon (e.g., rubbing the balloon with your cloth) and a wall. Please first observe carefully what happens. You may play with the slider of "Charges on the balloon" to change the type and amount of the charges on the balloon. Explain why this happens. After think about the mechanism, you may click on the check box below "Show microscopic model" to view the microscopic model. And explain why the microscopic model helps you understand the phenomenon.
Note: In the model, the temperature is set to room temperature (300K).
