The previous pages show that charged atoms interact with each other
according to Coulomb's Law. What happens between a charged atom and a
neutral atom? The Law seems to suggest that the force between them is
zero, as Q<sub><font size="1">1</font></sub>xQ<sub><font size="1">2</font></sub>=0
if Q<sub><font size="1">1</font></sub>=0 or Q<sub><font size="1">2</font></sub>=0.
This is, however, not accurate. A charged object can interact with a
neutral object by causing the charges within it to redistribute.
