When a red blood cell enters your lungs, it enters the most oxygen rich
part of the body, so the concentration of oxygen outside of the red
blood cell is higher there. However, diffusion alone cannot transport
all the oxygen your body needs.

Red blood cells are specialized cells. They contain hemoglobin
molecules. A hemoglobin moleule is composed of proteins and iron, which
binds to oxygen. To the right is an example of this complex molecule
